Social commitment
Quality with responsibility
We see it as our responsibility to make an active contribution to society. In addition to our business activities, we therefore want to support people, communities and the future. That’s why we actively endeavour to support local and international initiatives that promote education, health and social responsibility.
As a company that has stood for quality, progress and reliability in medical technology for decades, custo med is particularly keen to actively promote innovation. Every year, the Peter Müller Innovation Award honours projects that noticeably improve medicine and healthcare. As the sponsor of the prize money of €10,000, custo med specifically supports people and ideas that open up new paths in diagnostics and medical technology.
The mobile paediatric heart clinic enables the examination, surgery and aftercare of children with heart disease in selected countries with reduced medical infrastructure.
This is achieved through the development of a unique, self-sufficient, mobile cardiac surgery clinic with an intensive care unit and intermediate care unit/training unit.
The project is 100% funded by donations. We are delighted to be able to make a contribution to advancing the project and thereby providing better care for children with heart conditions.
KARLA 51 is a women’s shelter and emergency accommodation centre in Munich that offers homeless women, including those with children, protection, accommodation and support. It provides single rooms for overnight stays, runs a shelter for acute emergencies, offers socio-educational counselling, basic supplies such as clothing and food, and a daytime café. The aim is to provide women in acute crises with low-threshold security, secure their basic needs and open up prospects for an independent life. We are happy to support KARLA 51 with donations in kind and by participating in the annual summer party.
We work together with comebags to give our old advertising banners a new lease of life. Instead of throwing them away, they are upcycled into high-quality, unique bags and accessories. Reuse instead of throwing away: Materials that would previously have become obsolete after their useful life are now finding a new, valuable purpose.
Each piece is truly unique and carries on a small piece of our company history.
The Munich Sharks are the electric wheelchair football team of the non-profit organisation Insel.Zeit e.V. in Munich. The team is made up of children and young people with rare, mostly muscular diseases who are able to pursue their passion for team sports thanks to special sports wheelchairs. Training sessions and league and away trips incur considerable costs, most of which are borne by the families. What’s more, the customised sports wheelchairs themselves cost a lot (from 9,000 euros) and are not covered by health insurance. Support helps the Munich Sharks let children and young people participate in inclusive, performance-orientated team sports and to promote their sporting development in the long term.
The Munich National Theatre is the largest opera house in Germany with 2,101 seats and is considered one of the most beautiful theatres in Europe. It exemplifies high artistic quality and at the same time assumes responsibility for the future. It specifically promotes young talent and is committed to making opera and culture accessible to all sections of society. The Bavarian State Opera believes it is particularly important to involve and inspire all generations. As a sponsoring member, we are pleased to support this institution. At the same time, our employees can take advantage of various benefits to attend operas, concerts and ballet performances.
Freiburger Teddybär-Krankenhaus
